2024 Parliamentary Workshop

The 2024 Parliamentary Procedures Workshop is in the books! Thank you to our participating universities for another outstanding workshop. Best of luck at the conference!

When: Saturday, September 28th, 9:30 am start
Where: Our Lady of the Lake University, San Antonio. Main Building, Renaissance Parlor (Main 128) and Room 311. Parking is available in Lot A (by the Main Building), Lot J (next to the library), or in front of the Convent. No pass is required.
How Much: $30 per student (lodging and food on your own) (Parking & Fees are Free). Light breakfast options will be provided, Lunch on your own). Payment can be made here
What to Bring: Business attire and a great attitude! All materials provided.

For this season, parliamentary training videos and materials have been made available to all registered teams online through their team dashboard pages. As such, this year's Parliamentary Workshop will serve as an in-person opportunity to practice debate, learn useful strategy not taught in the basic instructional videos, and network with other participating delegations.

The workshop is open for Summit of the Americas participants only, and will include:

Introductory session on what to expect at this year's conference, along with in-depth explanation of changes
3 1.5 hour sessions of live debate practice time with pre-prepared resolutions ranging from easy and silly to advanced
Real-time feedback and suggestions from members of the ESMOAS Judging Committee
Additional, exclusive instruction on strategies, alliances, "reading the room" and other aspects of debate not covered in basic training
Drawings of the Order of Precedence for each committee
In-depth additional instruction for Head Delegates (General Committee) about new GC expectations and requirements
Meeting of all Head Delegates (GC) to select budgetary resolutions (in person and remote)
